Alone Time

Something that I always have my clients with children do, is take a photo BY THEMSELVES.  Sometimes it’s tough for moms and dads to take a moment for them alone.  I have a dear friend, Robin, who constantly breathes the best advice into me, that no relationship with anyone on Earth is more important than your relationship with your spouse.  Nurture it, spend time together (alone!).  It strengthens your friendship, and it makes your children feel safe and secure.  They love to see mom and dad as partners.  It’s so important.  And the photos are always beautiful 🙂

Le Clayton Wedding

We have this friend.  His last name is Clayton.  We’re from Indiana, so naturally we say it with a French accent, “Le CLAYTOUUUUUN!!!”  followed by a “hohn, hohn, hohn!!!” in a dirty Frenchman voice.  On a more serious note, this guy has been like a brother to my husband and me since our early days at Purdue.  So, when we had our second son, we named him after this dear friend.

A year ago, we got the ecstatic phone call from Clayton in his super smooth voice, “Dude.  Cheryl and I got engaged this weekend.”  YAY!  Even better, they got married in Austin, TX = Vacation.  It was a beautiful wedding, and their dear photographer gave me permission to take some photos.

My Three Sons

My littles.  I love them to the moon and back.  Poor things get their picture taken all.the.time.  I love the littlest one the most because he can’t run away yet.  🙂  I am absolutely joking.  But seriously, God dished us out some cheeky, light-hearted, joyful smart-tarts.  I am truly blessed.

Through Wind and Cold

When we scheduled this session, we thought, “SURELY it will be warm enough for outdoor photos by then!” and, this winter ahem spring, just won’t seem to get with it. This gorgeous family of 3 didn’t even let it ruffle their scarves.  They were fabulous even in the wind and cold on that April morning.  The sun even showed its face every once in awhile!  Seriously, isn’t this little one a doll baby?

Boys Will Be Boys

I’m a mom of boys.  If you are too, you get that life is it’s own level of crazy.  I wouldn’t say that it is by any means MORE crazy than raising girls…just a different kind of crazy.  And it’s a GOOD sort of crazy 🙂

When my good friend, Tricia, asked me to schedule a family session for them, I was so excited.  Excited because their boys are wildly creative, outgoing, witty, and quick.  Number one, I knew it would be a TON of FUN, and number two, I knew that if I was successful in this session as I start my business, I would be READY for just about anything 😉
